About Breeding In Ireland

Mare & foalIreland’s limestone rich soil and lush green pasture combined with its mild climate and the Irish people’s natural affinity with the horse make it the ideal location to raise tough, athletic young stock.  This is why, despite Ireland’s small size and a population of just four million people, Ireland consistently produces superior thoroughbred stock which go on to perform at the highest level.

As well as the long established Irish stud farms, the future of the thoroughbred breeding industry in Ireland is in the very safe hands of the up and coming young breeders who are striding up through the ranks and making their name on the international stage.  When this is coupled with the international bloodstock operations that choose to base their operations on these shores, Irish bloodstock really is a force to be revered.
