Bible Belt (IRE) looked a filly going places when winning a Listed race at Gowran Park a few weeks ago and she took another step up the ladder when she landed the Group 3 Dance Design Stakes at the Curragh with the minimum of fuss. Jessica Harrington’s filly showed a very smart turn of foot to beat good yardstick Wild Wind by a length and a quarter to remain unbeaten this season. Her trainer is rather excited about Cristina Patino’s homebred saying; “That’s only her third run of the year so we could have a nice autumn campaign with her.”
It would be no surprise to see Bible Belt tackle a Group 1 race before the season ends and given her rate of progression she would certainly not be out of her depth. Her trainer knows the family well as Bible Belt is a full sister to the stable-yards high class group performer Bob Le Beau (IRE). Both are by Irish National Stud stallion Big Bad Bob whose statistics make for good reading. Out of only 37 runners to date he has sired 20 winners of 39 races, including 2 Group 3 winners, 2 Group placed horses and 3 Listed placed runners. Big Bad Bob stands for a covering fee of €6,000 and is a half brother to the dam of Snow Fairy.
