Not only did Irish trainers capture both Group 1 races at Newmarket on Saturday but Aidan O’Brien also captured the Group 3 Rockfel Stakes with possibly the most impressive juvenile winner of the day Wading (IRE). The daughter of Montjeu won cosily by two lengths from Pimpernel, covering the seven furlongs in a time faster than the Dewhurst winner. Winner of a Dundalk maiden on her previous outing Wading looks a top prospect for next season and if her pedigree is anything to go by she looks readymade Classic material. She is out of the stakes placed Green Desert mare Cherry Hinton, who happens to be a half sister to Sea The Stars and Galileo not to mention two other Grade 1 winners and the exciting juvenile Born To Sea.
