GOFFS GRADUATES SHINE IN SOUTH AFRICA

Following a strong renewal of their recent Orby Sale Goffs enjoyed a stakes double in South Africa over the weekend with two graduates from their premier yearling sale. Rock Of Gibraltar’s his Irish-bred daughter Gibraltar Blue, who is already a multiple Group winner in South Africa, made all the running to land the Group 3 Joburg Spring Challenge at Turffontein. The mare, who was bred by Annalee Bloodstock and Rockhart Trading was bought at the Orby Sale by Jehan Malherbe’s Form Bloodstock for €75,000 from Marlhill House Stud. The Goffs stakes double was completed by Welwitschia who won the Group 3 Joburg Spring Fillies And Mares Challenge. She was bought at Goffs the following year also by Form Bloodstock for €60,000 when consigned by Kilminfoyle House Stud. Goffs next sale takes place on Friday October 28th with a combined yearling and horse in training sale. Group 1 winner Margot Did (IRE) was discovered at the same sale for only €16,000 a few years back and no doubt there will similar gems available this year. Catalogues will be on line at the end of this week and will be printed early next week.
