Dermot Weld has a fantastic strike rate with his jumps horses and he combined with Andrew Lynch to win the Grade 1 Spring Juvenile with Dr Ronan Lambe’s Hisaabaat (IRE). The Ballylinch Stud bred son of Dubawi was winning for the first time over hurdles and got a superb waiting ride from Andrew Lynch to beat Shadow Catcher in great style. Hisaabaat, sold by Ballylinch as a yearling in Goffs Orby Sale, is now Triumph Hurdle bound where he will bid to go one place better than his stable-mate Unaccompanied, who finished second last year after winning the corresponding race on Sunday. Weld reported after the race; “I thought he got a lovely ride there from Andrew. He’s what I call a 'made hurdler' from the Flat. He’s taken a bit of time but he’s getting his act together.” For Lynch it was a sixth Grade 1 winning ride this season and he is riding as good as any jockey currently in Ireland and Britain. He can also look forward to an enviable book of rides at Cheltenham that includes Sizing Europe and Voler La Vedette.
