Eddie Stobart boss Andrew Tinkler has teamed up with former top jockey Tommy Carmody, sending him six horses to be trained out of a yard on the Curragh owned by Johnny Murtagh. The new alliance got off to the perfect start on Friday when their first runner Miss Mediator won the opening race at Dundalk under a great ride from Johnny Murtagh. Tinkler was present for the win and a delighted trainer commented; “That's great, fabulous. I thought we’d done enough with her at home. She’d been running over shorter in England and going up to a mile was a big help to her. It’s a great start and I’m delighted to have a winner for Andrew. Tinkler is a welcome addition to the owners ranks in Ireland. His firm Eddie Stobart sponsored the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh last year and we wish him the best of luck with his new venture.
