Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale graduate PRESENT MAN (IRE) trumped in a very competitive renewal of the Listed Badger Ales Trophy Handicap Chase at Wincanton on Saturday. The seven-year-old gelding was a winner of the bumper on the same card in 2014. PRESENT MAN (IRE) and Final Nudge (IRE) gave a thrilling display in the final stages of the race but it was PRESENT MAN (IRE) who came out on top to win by a head.

The Kenneth Parkhill-bred gelding is a son of the late Glenview Stud sire Presenting and he is a half-brother to the Grade 2 winner Caim Hill (IRE). He was purchased by Eoin Doyle at the  Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale for €42,000 and later finished second on his point-to-point debut for his aforementioned handler. PRESENT MAN (IRE) previously won at Grade 2 level and he is entered into the Group 3 Ladbrokes Trophy Chase at Newbury in December.
