DRAGON LIPS produced a brave performance to defeat a strong field in Sunday’s Group 2 Meilen Trophy at Cologne, a second Group victory for the Andreas Suborics-trained three-year-old. Marc Lerner also rode a brave race, riding his mount alone on the outside rail, before joining his eight rivals on the inside rail and taking over the lead after the three pole. Headed by recent Group 3 winner Millowitsch with two furlongs to go, DRAGON LIPS dug deep to snatch back the advantage half a furlong later, staying on well under a strong drive to win by a length. Owned by Stall Lintec, he is one of 29 individual Group winner by Footstepsinthesand, who commanded €10,000 at Castle Hyde Stud this season.
