VISION DES FLOS landed the Listed Novices’ Hurdle at Exeter on Sunday to break his maiden over hurdles in very impressive style. The five-year-old bay traveled strongly throughout the race, hitting the front over the third last and pulled away to beat the short-priced favourite Mercenaire by a remarkable 31 lengths. Mercenaire stayed on well for second, finishing 23 lengths clear of Solo Saxophone (IRE) in third.

Assistant trainer Joe Tizzard reported “He won with a lot in hand. He's got the entries at Cheltenham and off the back of that, the Ballymore looks the race if we go there, which I think we will. It's just nice to see him put in a performance like that today.”

The two-time Goffs graduate was first purchased by Paurick O’Connor for €25,000 at the Landrover Sale in 2016. The following year Robert Tyner trained VISION DES FLOS to win the prestigious Goffs bumper at the Punchestown Festival, where he was subsequently sold to Tom Malone for €270,000 at the Punchestown HIT sale.

VISION DES FLOS is out of a half-sister to the Henry De Bromhead-trained Grade 1 performer Balko Des Flos.
