The Irish stallion ranks have gained an exciting new national hunt prospect in the shape of JUKEBOX JURY (IRE), a talented son of the mighty Montjeu (IRE). He joins Shantou and Sea Moon at Burgage Stud in County Carlow, where all three can be viewed during the ITM Irish Stallion Trail on January 12th and 13th (read more).

Having previously stood in Germany, his first crop are now three-year-olds and provide him with thirty winners and an impressive strike rate of 45% winners to runners. Victor Connolly of Burgage Stud is understandably delighted with his latest addition, commenting; “A St Leger winner and a winner of seven Group races by Montjeu (IRE) from a very good family means there is a lot to like about JUKEBOX JURY (IRE). Montjeu (IRE) has already made a massive impact on the National Hunt scene siring Hurricane Fly (IRE), Authorized (IRE) and Walk In The Park (IRE) to name but a few, and we expect Jukebox Jury to add to that list.”

Trained by Mark Johnston, JUKEBOX JURY (IRE) gained his first Group victory as a two-year-old in the Royal Lodge Stakes, before beating Campanologist as a three-year-old in the Group 3 Rose Of Lancaster Stakes, then taking the Grand Prix de Deauville and rounded up a terrific season with a Group 1 victory in the Preis von Europa. He won another Group 2 at four and finished a consistent career at five with a Group 2 at Deauville and finally, dead-heated with Duncan in the Irish St Leger. Noble defeats on his record include a second to Champs Elysees in the Grade 1 Canadian International  and chasing home Crowded House in the Racing Post Trophy.

Bred by Paul Nataf, JUKEBOX JURY (IRE) is one of six black-type siblings, including the dam of Japanese Grade 1 winner Admire Lead. Their second dam, Feerie Boreale, finished third in the Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac.
