BAND OF OUTLAWS (IRE) has proven himself to be a progressive sort, having finished 5th first time out behind Whitefountainfairy (IRE) at Fairyhouse, then 2nd behind Painting Pictures (IRE) at Roscommon (an incredible effort, given that his jockey had to ride without irons for most of the race), before winning this EBF 2yo Median Auction Maiden (7f), with something to spare.  Trained by Joseph O’Brien, he is by Fast Company (IRE), and is a half-brother to three winners out of Band Of Colour (IRE).  She in turn is the daughter of Group 3 Prix d’Arenberg winner Regal Scintilla.  Bred by James Browne’s Kilnamoragh Stud, he was sold by his breeder to Sarah O’Brien for €11,000 at last year’s Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale.  Following this win, he has been added to the Goffs London Sale, and is being sold with an entry in the Group 2 Railway Stakes on Irish Derby Day at the Curragh on Saturday 1st July.

The 3yo maiden on the card went the way of PUPPETSHOW (IRE), a filly by Galileo, representing the Coolmore/Ballydoyle team, she scored by 1 ¼ lengths from the Fozzy Stack-trained Breeze (IRE) (Sea The Stars (IRE)) in second, with Michael Halford’s Haroon (IRE) (Lope De Vega (IRE)) in third.   Puppetshow (IRE) comes from the same family as earlier maiden winner Band Of Outlaws (IRE), and is a half-sister to the Listed Marble Hill Stakes winner, Group 2 Norfolk Stakes-second and sire Coach House (IRE).  Their dam, Lesson In Humility (IRE), won the Group 3 Ballyogan Stakes and was twice Group 1-placed in the Golden Jubilee Stakes and the Prix Maurice de Gheest.
