SHATTERED LOVE (IRE) joined the growing list of girls beating the boys at the highest level when taking the feature Grade 1 Neville Hotels Novice Chase at Leopardstown on Friday. The three mile chase saw the Gordon Elliott-trained six-year-old overturn recent form with stablemate Jury Duty (IRE), whom she beat a length and three quarters on the line, with a 16 length gap back to Bon Papa in third. Favourite Monalee fell at the tenth fence and brought down Rathvinden (IRE), in turn hampering Dinaria Des Obeaux.

A Grade 3 winner over hurdles and Grade 2 placed in a bumper, the Yeats (IRE) mare gained her first victory in a point-to-point at Lemonfield, and has more than repaid the €50,000 given for her at the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale. Owned by Gigginstown House Stud and bred by Limetree Stud, she is a half-sister to Make A Track (IRE), a useful chaser for the same connections, as well as Grade 2 Charlie Hall Chase winner Irish Cavalier (IRE). Their dam, meanwhile, is a half-sister to Grade 1 Champion Hurdle winner Make A Stand.
