Sea The Stars (IRE) added to his impressive list of stakes winning progeny over the weekend, with Night Music winning the Listed Premio Paolo Mezzanotte in Milan on Sunday.  Plein Air, the SP favourite, sought to make all, but German raider Night Musicdidn't let her out of her sights, as she shadowed her all the way, before quickening at the 400m pole and going on to win in great style, two lengths clear of her rivals.

Worthy of taking her chances in the Gr.1 Preis der Diana, this race had been on the agenda since she won her seasonal debut at the French provincial track of Wissembourg, a track where Champions such as Danedream have achieved victory.

Night Music, trained by Sarah Steinberg and owned by Stall Salzburg, is a half-sister to German Champion Older Mare Night Magic, who won the Gr.1 Preis der Diana and the Gr.1 Grosser Preis von Baden. The dam, Night Woman was stakes placed and is from the prestigious female line of Novellist, originating from the eminent N-Line of Federico Tesio, the Thoroughbred Theorist who is responsible for producing all-time greats such as Nearco and many more.

Aside from Night Music, Sea The Stars also had another stakes winner over the weekend when Sirrin(IRE) won a listed race in Toulouse on Friday 16th for Jean Claude Rouget, owned by H H Aga Khan.

Sea The Stars (IRE) has sired numerous winners at the highest level since retiring to Gilltown Stud, including last season's dual-Derby winner Harzand (IRE), Cloth of Stars (IRE), Mekhtaal, Sea The Moon and Taghrooda.  He commanded a fee of 125,000 euros in 2017.
